What is the standard response to a call transfer request? – “I´ll call them back”
There is never a good time to receive a transferred call, you are always in the middle of something important, and when you are interrupted you then lose your train of thought – a real pain.
and then for Mandy on reception, it´s embarrassing to say ‘I’ll see if he´s available’ and then always say ´he’ll call you back’ –
it says to the caller they are not important. Whereas, simply saying “I can see he’s on the phone at the moment, I’ll get him to call you back” is far more professional, wastes no time and doesn’t interrupt anyone.
