As the majority of the world has started getting used to this online life and working from home, it can be harder and harder to keep your confidence levels up. This is especially true right now, whether you’re a business owner, a freelancer, or an employee with these uncertain times!
It takes energy, and practice to stay confident in yourself and your abilities. If you’re running your own business, how do you expect your clients to believe in you if you don’t even believe in yourself?
I understand that this can be hard though, especially if you begin to get yourself into a cycle of uncertainty about yourself, your capabilities, your future, your direction, your goals… etc. You will see this negativity rolling out in front of you which will be more and more difficult to pull yourself out of. You may then notice more rejections than normal, or start to lack the confidence to show up daily to meet your clients needs.
Your confidence not only affects your mood and motivation but also impacts your level of business success too. If you’re feeling confident in your abilities and motivated to succeed, that energy will be magnetic to existing and future clients.
This is why it’s so important to find ways to keep your confidence levels up in business.
Here are 7 tips on how to keep your confidence soaring, and putting your mindset and business exactly where it needs to be.
1. Celebrate all of your achievements
Get pen to paper (or use the achievements page when you download our free productivity planner) and note down all of your achievements to date. No matter how big or small these may be. Brainstorm everything you can think of and celebrate yourself. Having a place where these are all written down is a perfect way for you to go back to this, and remind yourself of just how amazing you are, as well as continuously updating new wins.
Even if your achievements are getting yourself out of bed when you feel down, or signing a new client, it all counts.
2. Believe in your daily affirmations and show up as that person
Providing yourself with daily affirmations is a great way to remind yourself of just how powerful you are. Use an affirmation app, or Pinterest if this is something you need some inspiration with, and choose 2 to 4 affirmations for the day and write them down (again, the free productivity planner is an excellent place for this!) Repeat these throughout the day, especially if there is a moment you’re confidence is wavering. Take a deep breath and really start to believe in your affirmations.
This will do wonders for your mindset and confidence.
3. Ask for client testimonials
What better way to boost your confidence than to hear from your clients how wonderful they find it working with you? Use these and place them on your website, so potential clients can also see how great you are, and this gives you have a place to return to if you need a little reminder. You can also add these to your achievements list!
4. Show up in Facebook groups
I imagine you’re in numerous Facebook groups that have been helpful to your business. If you’re not, I would recommend you look for a few that are relevant to you. Start showing up where you can, you have the knowledge that others are seeking, so get active and start answering people’s questions. You’ll have an instant boost of confidence, and that lovely “feel good” satisfaction from helping others.
Plus, the more you show up in these groups, the more you’re going to be considered an expert in your field, which is a pretty good confidence boost too!
5. Ask how you can be helpful
Similar to helping in Facebook groups, you can instead ask your audience directly what they need help with. Use your email list or your social media pages to find out your ideal clients pain points and do what you can to answer this. If you haven’t built your audience yet, use forums to connect with people and reach out that way.
6. Visualise your future self and take action daily action to show up as that person
Having a clear vision of where you want your future self to be, and what your future life looks like is a great way to boost your confidence as well as motivation. Regularly visualise your ideal future to help remind yourself that it is possible.
It also helps you to get used to what it will feel like to be that person and be happy. Try practicing this daily to start really believing in yourself.
7. Never forget your WHY.
Most people when starting up their business go through the process of working out their why. If you haven’t done this yet, I highly recommend you do this now.
It keeps you accountable for why you’re in business, what you want to achieve, where you want to end up, and who you want to help. Using your why regularly to keep you in check with yourself is a great reminder to reflect on how far you’ve come, and to continuously push you forward.
This in turn will boost your confidence levels, and reconnect you with your soul purpose.
