If your number was sold it would be almost impossible to find out how or via whom.
Privacy, is becoming a huge aspect of all of our lives and like everything prevention is often better than cure.
To prevent your mobile number being sold, limit the quantity of people who know it. Don’t give it out or publicise it, only let your nearest & dearest know what it is!
That sounds crazy & even impossible to achieve, right?
Actually, with latest tech it’s pretty easy to achieve – I am always on my mobile phone, making calls all over the world to suppliers, partners, staff and clients… but only about 6 people know my real mobile number!
I use ConXhub which gives me additional phone numbers to use instead of my actual mobile number which remains private – using these additional numbers means I can separate different parts of my business life and remain local to those I am calling – for example I have numbers for New York and LA – so when I call people in USA I can be local to them, even though I am thousands of miles away.. check out this explainer video: https://youtu.be/d-ZjlJ1WAXA
When someone calls me I know what number they dialled & why they are calling and it is pretty simple to forward calls to my answering service or a colleague when I am not available.
This means that when I get a call on my mobile number it is either someone I know or a spam call – and we know what to do with those 🙂
