By definition according to Investopedia, a Startup is a young company founded by one or more entrepreneurs to develop a unique product or service and bring it to market. People going from a big company to a startup, as a founder or an employee, severely underestimate the differences in how the work gets done. In fact, there are many things you need to unlearn when you are used to the environment of a company then you change and start working for a startup. If you are working for a startup, you better prepare yourself for always finding your position in the company as responsibilities are constantly changing. Decision making Unlike in a company where directives are given by a boss or manager. In a startup, you have to make a lot of decisions and get a lot of work done by yourself. Moreover, startups don’t get a lot of support in terms of tools, processes, and people because established companies have a budget for such things. Everything is fast paced Startups move fast and even the worst ones work faster than companies. If you are used to a comfortable time schedule, then working in a startup is definitely not for you.
